About the artist
Maddie Lagina, the artist behind M. Mari Studios, is a self-taught graphite artist and painter.
An avid traveler and a northern Michigan native, she aims to capture the unique beauty of her favorite places in her landscape painting.
She developed a passion for pet portraiture after meeting her muse, and one of the great loves of her life, her little dog, Alfie. She loves to weave humor, charm, and creativity into her pet portraits.
Though all of her idols work in muted oils, try as she might, she cannot abandon her proclivity toward bright colors and playful light sources in her work.
